Brazil - Argentina tour
Sun., Feb. 5  - Sydney / Buenos Aires

 Depart Sydney flying Aerolineas Argentinas to Buenos Aires, arriving at 1.05pm.  On arrival in Buenos Aires you will be met and transferred to your tour hotel for overnight stay.
The afternoon is at leisure to enable you to relax after your flight from Sydney.

RioMon., Feb. 6 – Buenos Aires / Rio de Janeiro (B,D)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Rio de Janeiro – arrive in Rio De Janeiro-Galeão Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport . Airport transfer to hotel on Copacabana or Ipanema Beach. There’ll be free time in the afternoon to enjoy the beach or rest, followed by dinner in the hotel restaurant. Overnight at our 4 star hotel on the beach. Light lunch on your own. Free time for swimming or walking on the beach. Evening dinner in hotel.

Tue., Feb. 7 – Rio de Janeiro (B, L)

Following breakfast, we take a city tour of the highlights of Rio including the Corcovado (Christ Statue) and Sugar Loaf. We will have a traditional Brazilian lunch before returning to the hotel and “the beach”. Following the tour you’ll have some free time to explore the area. Dinner tonight will be on your own. On the boulevard of Copacabana Beach at the west end, is a flea market that sells souvenirs and “Rio” items of all kinds that can be purchased for below store costs – this is an evening event that is always enjoyed by group members. Then it’s back to the hotel for a good night’s rest.

Wed., Feb. 8 – Rio de Janeiro – Sao Paulo – Cuiaba-Rondonopolis (B, D)

After breakfast we depart for the airport. We fly to Cuiaba via Sao Paulo, capital of the Mato Grosso region of Brazil. This is an all-day event and upon arrival in Cuiaba, we will have lunch before departing for Rondonopolis. When we arrive in Rondonopolis, you will check in to your hotel, and have time to buy dinner, and relax at the hotel or use the hotel swimming pool.

Thurs., Feb. 9 – Rondonopolis (B, L)

After a full breakfast we’ll be visiting farms on Serra da Petrovina (cotton gin, cotton,) and having lunch on cattleChris Ward’s farm Rainha da Serra. After lunch we’ll be visiting farms that produce soybeans, cotton and soybean seeds. Dinner is on your own tonight however we do have several suggestions. Overnight at your Rondonopolis hotel.

Friday, Feb. 10 - Rondonopolis – Cuiaba (B, L, D)

Today we will visit a local aerial spray application company, Agroer and learn about crop protection programs in the Mato Grosso. Lunch along the way we will visit a cropping operation and then a beef cattle operation on the way to Cuiaba. We travel to Cuiaba, where we will arrive in the evening and have a full Brazilian BBQ before retiring for the evening. Overnight in Cuiaba, capital of the Mato Grosso.

Sat., Feb. 11 – Cuiaba – Sao Paulo - Iguaçu (B, D)

Departure from Cuiaba after breakfast. Flights to Sao Paulo then to Foz do Iguaçu. Lunch on board both flights. Upon arrival in Foz do Iguaçu, the group will check in to the resort hotels pool, rest for a short time, before going to the famous (8:00 in the evening) Samba Show to experience the Latin American dances from several cultures including; Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Mexico and Paraguay, while enjoying a full course buffet meal, Brazilian BBQ Style. Overnight at your Resort hotel in Foz do Iguaçu.

IguacuSun., Feb. 12 – Iguacu – (B, L)

After a breakfast buffet, we travel to the Argentinean side of the Iguaçu Falls. After seeing the falls from Argentina by walking on the board- walks and travelling on the National Park train, we return to Brazil. Mid-morning we will visit the beautiful Brazilian side of the Falls, have a buffet lunch at the top of the Falls, then descend to the river’s edge for a trip of a lifetime. We will have an incredible speed boat ride up to the base of the falls along the Iguaçu River, experiencing the beauty of the falls from below. We return to our hotel in time for dinner and relaxation. After this experience, we slow down for a bit of Brazilian souvenir shopping before returning to the hotel. Dinner will be on your own this evening in the hotel restaurant or their pool side bar restaurant.

Mon., Feb. 13 – Iguaçu - Coopavel Rural Show, Cascavel - Iguaçu – (B, L)

After an early breakfast in the hotel, we’ll visit the Itaipu Dam in the morning. The Itaipu dam is the largest hydroelectric dam in the world generating 25% of Brazil’s electricity needs and almost 80% of Paraguay’s electric needs. We’ll then travel 1 hour and 30 minutes north east to Cascavel, to the site of the Show Rural. Spend all day at the Coopavel Rural Show, the largest rural expo in Brazil. You’ll have lots of time to wander and look at the displays and permanent exhibits and plots and enjoy your lunch – buffet lunch, Brazilian style at their one large site restaurant. After our visit to the show, we return to Iguaçu for our overnight. Dinner on your own tonight in the hotel restaurant.

TangoIguaçu – Sao Paulo – Buenos Aires (B, D)

Breakfast will be followed by check-out, transfer to the airport and flights to Sao Paulo and then to Buenos Aires. Lunches will be served on both flights. When we arrive in Buenos Aires, we will transfer to the heart of Buenos Aires where will check in to our hotel to change and freshen up. Following this “travel day” you will have a relaxing city tour, followed by dinner where you can celebrate Valentine’s Day with dinner in Buenos Aires. Overnight in downtown Buenos Aires.

Wed., Feb. 15 – Sao Paulo – Buenos Aires (B, L)

After breakfast, we travel to South America’s largest Livestock Market located inside Buenos Aires city limits, where 8-12 thousand head of cattle are sold daily for processing in the abattoirs around the city, for domestic consumption. The dominant breeds at the sale are Aberdeen Angus and Hereford. It is also a very good place to buy gaucho souvenirs, lassos, mates, etc.  We’ll check into the hotel and have lunch at the hotel or on the tour of the city. We’ll visit La Boca and San Telmo, with its flea markets, Palermo and Barrio Norte districts, with the expensive houses and Classic architecture; Puerto Madero, recycled port area where the old warehouses were re-converted into fancy offices, restaurants and apartments; Recoleta and its cemetery (where Eva Peron’s grave is), the Plaza de Mayo, the Cathedral. Dinner tonight is on your own, however we have some excellent local restaurant suggestions where English is spoken, or eat in the hotel.

la BocaThurs., Feb. 16 - Buenos Aires - Pergamino (B, L)

Breakfast in our hotel, check out and we leave the city towards the NW, into the Pampas, to the San Antonio de Areco area, where we will visit the Gaucho Museum (to learn about what it means to be a Gaucho)then we will carry on and visit an 800 hectare farm, dedicated to mixed production of cattle and crops (wheat, soybean and corn). Lunch on the farm. We continue our trip into the Pampas, stopping at Pergamino, a prosperous agricultural city. We’ll check in to the hotel and you can enjoy dinner on your own, at any one of a number of restaurants in the city. Pergamino is a rural city, and the only downtown hotel here is a 2 star. It allows us to experience the culture of the rural regions. Shopping and restaurants are near the hotel and include Italian, Spanish and Argentinean style and the ever popular Argentinean style Pizza restaurant. Overnight in Pergamino.

Fri., Feb. 17 - Pergamino – Rosario (B, L)

This day is devoted to the agricultural production of the area. We will start the day, visiting a farm dedicated to mixed production, with a full cycle cattle operation and crops, such as corn, wheat, soy beans. There are fewer cattle in the area because of no till and GMO technology. All land suitable for agriculture has gone mainly into corn and soybeans. Lunch along the way. Argentina’s soybeans are close to 100 % RR. We will also visit a dairy farm. We travel to the beautiful city of Rosario, which also contains a port where farm products are shipped down river to Buenos Aires and beyond. Dinner on your own in Rosario.

RosarioSat., Feb. 18 Rosario/Buenos Aires (B, L, D)

We leave the city for a cruise of the Parana River, to have a panoramic view of the several private ports and crushing industries of the area. The region has the highest soybean crushing concentration in the world. Snack lunch on the ship. We then travel by bus to Buenos Aires. In the afternoon we arrive in Buenos Aires and in the evening, we’ll go to the old part of town for dinner and a spectacular Tango show.

Sun., Feb. 19 – Buenos Aires / Sydney

After breakfast the group will have free time in Buenos Aires. After check out the group will transfer to the airport for your flight with Aerolineas Argentinas to Sydney.

Cancellation Policy: Refunds can only be made through insurance purchased from your AgriTours Network agent prior to the tour.

Travel Insurance:  We include travel insurance in your tour cost

Additional Information

Passport: Australian citizens must hold a passport valid for six months AFTER the date of return.

Visas: A tourist visa is required to visit Brazil and is the responsibility of the participants. Visas will be arranged by us once we have received your deposit
Business Visas are now required and take between 3-5 weeks to process.

Vaccinations:  Although no vaccinations are required to either enter or leave any of the countries, W.H.O. recommended shots include tetanus, Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B. Malaria and Yellow Fever is NOT commonly found in southern Brazil and very rarely in central Brazil. Vaccinations are at the participants’ discretion and cost and are NOT required as a pre-requisite to entry into Brazil or Argentina. We recommend Tetanus, Hep. A & B no matter where you travel in the world!
